Our
mission is: to reunite
each child with his/her own family by helping the
family to resolve its problems; to place
each child as soon as possible in
a foster home, group home or adoptive home (a real
home in a real community); to endeavor
to keep siblings together or if they
have been separated, to reunite them as quickly
as possible; to prepare all children
for independent living so they may
make meaningful contributions to society when they
leave Abbott House ; to provide community
based group homes where developmentally
disabled children and young adults are empowered
to achieve their fullest potential; and to
develop prevention programs which
will maintain intact families.
ABBOTT
HOUSE, a 16 acre modern, multi-faceted voluntary
agency located in Irvington in Westchester County,
is a child care agency and residential treatment
center whose purpose is to provide programs for
dependent, homeless, neglected, abused or developmentally
disabled children and young adults regardless of
race, creed or national origin.
Abbott
House is a proud member agency of the Child Wefare
League of America.
