The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO)was established in Torrance, California in 1964 with nine teams. Today, AYSO nationwide has more than 60,000 teams, 660,000 players, ages 41/2 to 18, plus 250,000 volunteer coaches, referees and administrators.
