Tarrytown's Planning Board held a public session on April 27th concerning a proposed development in Wilson Park. Several people - neighbors and environmental activists - came to voice their environmental and other public concerns. Written comments should be made to Ms. Kathleen D'Eufemia (Village contact), 21 Wildey St., Tarrytown, NY 10591 or call 914.631.1652.

SUMMER 2004 - PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT CONCERN: An active, fast-moving development project named "Legends" at Wilson Park in Tarrytown, plans large, high-end housing units there, just West of the Tarrytown Lakes. The proposal will subdivide 48 acres to build 20 single-family homes in an area currently (partially) zoned for 21- and 26-acre lots (Wilson Park Dr., Warner La., County House Rd., Tarrytown.)

This development, fortunately subject to full approval, would likely preclude the only chance to finally connect the North County Trailway to the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail, a long-sought goal described both in County and State plans. (some plans can be found in the links at this site - please let us know if you have any additional information or useful links to add.)

CCAPLD (Citizens Concerned About Pocantico Land Development) is a group of people interested in preserving the open, natural green character of the Pocantico estates area and public spaces in the area of Briarcliff Manor, Pocantico Hills, Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown, on the East banks of the lower Hudson River in NY State.

Ongoing land use issues have brought local residents together to share ideas to help preserve the character of this unique area, portions of which are or could become vulnerable to private development. And also to foster creation of East-West walking/biking trail connections between the North County Trailway and the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail.
